I was SO ready to be back out in the shop.  Usually I can alternate my activities throughout the day so that I can be the webmaster for a while, then customer service, then woodwright.  However! my team and I have been putting just SO much of our energies into the new and vastly improved website that I found myself pining for my woodworkers tools.

I headed to the storeroom first to pick a few 'sticks' of a type I hadn't worked with for some time, just to make it even more interesting.  Our New Waves will be showing in lots of oak and even some lacewood.  We will continue to have the beautiful, domestic cherry and maple.

Readying tools came next.  It is such a pleasant way to work oneself back into the 'swing of things'.  Mike has taught me how to sharpen just about everything, including my kitchen knives.

Next was preparing he sticks to be shaped.  I so enjoy getting them ready to be worked that I spent the rest of the afternoon just doing that.  I imagined each one waiting to be carved into a New Waves Jildo just for . . . well, you.

This evening will be family time and some errands.  Tomorrow is the making of the rises and falls of these new, fuller Jildos.  I also came across some even thicker wood (finished size about 1-3/4") so may introduce those too.  Let me know what you think.
